1. Are you missing lists of programs in taskbar in Ubuntu 10.04 ?
In Ubuntu 10.04 when you minimize any window then this window disappear ( are you confused to this ) for see this window press Alt + Tab but this irritating, if you missing list of windows in Ubuntu 10.04 then, just follow these instructions
Just right-click on the taskbar, click "Add to Panel ..." and click on "Window List" & now press Add button, Voila your windows list back in Ubuntu 10.04.
2. Are you irritate with two panels (by default) & Accessories, Places & System buttons ?
Simply right click on top panel & choose Delete This Panel & right click on bottom panel, then choose Add to Panel.... option.(then choose below options )
Main Menu (This same as Windows Start menu, if you like Ubuntu's Accessories, Places & System buttons instead of single button then choose Menu Bar )
You can also uses other options ( just learn by practice )

You not like Minimize, Maximize & Close buttons position in Ubuntu 10.04.
Press Alt + F2 (or lauch terminal )
Type gconf-editor
& press Run
now Goto, apps - metacity - general
( /apps/metacity/general)
double click on button_layout
(on right side panel ) & type exact as menu:minimize,maximize,close
(if you want exact as Windows OS ) otherwise you can reorder this
buttons as you like (like menu:close,minimize,maximize etc.)
& fun with buttons.
After customization, address bar same as below
System Manager
Press Ctrl + Alt + Del, then you see Restart & Shut down option on screen, if you want change like Windows task manager then visit this hub
